I was looking for a pocket gun/back up gun to my regular daily carry. The Kel-Tec line seemed to offer just the right combination of size, reliability and price. This is the Kel-Tec P-32 in .32 Auto. The standard magazine holds 7 rounds and there is an extended mag that will hold 10. It weighs 9.4 oz fully loaded and it's 5" long and only 3/4" wide. It rides easily in a Desantis Nemesis holster.

I chose the P-32 over the P-3AT (.380 Auto) for two reasons. First, the recoil on the P-32 is a little less....the P-3AT can best be described as "snappy". Second, the P-32 will lock back on an empty magazine (neither gun has a slide stop) and the P-3AT will not.

A lot of people will consider the .32 underpowered for self-defense. To me, it's purpose is as a back up -- just in case. Ideally, I'll never have to use it but if I do, it will probably buy me enough time to get to a more powerful weapon or get to cover/safety. In the meantime, the advantages of its small size and concealability outweigh any small caliber concerns for me.

The pictures above show how the P-32 compares in size to my PX4 Storm, my daily carry gun. That's 7 rounds of .32 ACP versus 17 rounds of 9mm. But there's no way I could slip the PX4 into my front pocket and go unnoticed!
