This Colt M1911 .45 ACP belong to my great uncle, a torpedoman chief in World War II. He "brought it home" after he retired and it passed on to my grandfather. According to the serial number, it was manufactured in 1912 and is the original design -- not the A1 design that lasted until the military bought the Beretta 92F.
The blueing is a little worn and the walnut grips have seen some better days, but she's still a beauty. Not the easiest thing to shoot (especially compared to the Sig!), but still a weapon that will stay right here in my collection!
