Ever since I first saw one, I've wanted a Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle - the GSR conceptualized by the legendary Colonel Jeff Cooper. This is chambered in .308 Win with a 16.1" parkerized steel barrel.It's paired with a Hi-Lux 2-7x32 Long Eye Relief (LER) scope mounted forward. I used Leuopld Warne-style quick disconnect mounts that keep the scope low but allow access to the iron sights in the event of an optics failure.
