Having a variety of guns is no fun if you don't to shoot them! But shooting at static targets at 10 or 15 yds starts to lose its appeal after a while. Fortunately, there are a variety of shooting sports available to keep things interesting.

I've taken up shooting in matches staged by the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA). It's the US branch of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC). Other choices include the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) and Tactical Shooting Association (TSA). None of them are "real" shooting -- they're all games of some sort. There's lots of debate about which one is more realistic or life-like. To me, just pick the one (or ones) with the rules you can master and have a good time at it.
